BAAM STAFF Jedd Appleton (Senior Ecologist) Jedd Appleton is a Senior Ecologist with BAAM Pty Ltd. Since completing an Honours degree in zoology, he has gained professional experience in environmental management, wildlife conservation and management, environmental impact assessment and constraints analyses, local and Shire-wide creek and catchment management, and stormwater and receiving water quality assessments. This has required the application of knowledge of numerous disciplines, including riparian, terrestrial and aquatic ecology, stormwater quality and quantity management, environmental planning, geology and geomorphology and social planning, as well as certain engineering principles. Jedd has been responsible for the preparation of, or contribution to, reports to a diverse range of clients and applications, including Local Government Plans and Strategies and supporting material for Development Applications and Environmental Impact Statements, as well as general project management, including client and sub-consultant liaison, project team coordination and community consultation. Much of his work has also required efficient database preparation and management and literature research skills. Since joining BAAM Pty Ltd in early 2004, Jedd has been able to continue these roles while gaining valuable field experience, particularly in knowledge and application of wildlife survey and identification techniques. Other key experience includes assistance with the development of a National Waterway Protection Package with the Queensland Environmental Protection Agency and voluntary research assistance with the Department of Primary Industries Fisheries Research Centre, the Daisy Hill Koala Research Unit, the University of Queensland and the Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland.
